Die Serie Dead America"

Im Jahr 2018 veröffentlichte der Autor DEREK SLATON den ersten Roman seiner  Horror-Serie „DEAD AMERICA“.

Slaton begann mit 16 Jahren mit dem Schreiben, nachdem er sich den Zombie-Film „DAWN OF THE DEAD“ (1978) von George A. Romero ausgeliehen hatte.

„Ich habe mit dem Schreiben begonnen, als ich etwa 16 Jahre alt war. Ich hatte mir Dawn of the Dead ausgeliehen und ihn ein paar Mal gesehen.

Von diesem Moment an habe ich angefangen, mir Geschichten und Situationen auszudenken, sie aufzuschreiben und einige davon zu Drehbüchern zu machen. Von da an wurde es immer mehr und hat nie wirklich aufgehört.“ (1)

Aus dieser Liebe zum Schreiben und seiner Liebe zu Zombies entstand schließlich die Serie „DEAD AMERICA“, die seit 2018 im Selbstverlag erscheint, von der bis Ende 2024 knapp 150 Bände veröffentlicht wurden.

„Mein Schreiben nahm letztes Jahr (2018) richtig Fahrt auf, als ich beschloss, im Selbstverlag zu veröffentlichen. Ich liebte es, die Freiheit zu haben, die Geschichten zu erzählen, die ich erzählen will, und die Möglichekit zu haben,ein Publikum dafür zu finden.“ (2)

Tagsüber arbeitet Derek Slaton als Architekturfotograf. Doch nach der Arbeit verbringt er jeden Moment mit dem Schreiben.
