Bis zum 20. September 1931 zeichnete Maxon 27 weitere
Seiten für die Comic-Serie, bis am 27. September 1931 HAL FOSTER die Serie „TARZAN“
übernahm, der bis zum 2. Mai 1937 insgesamt 293 Seiten für die Comic-Serie zeichnete.
Doch mit den Jahren wurde Hal Foster die Arbeit an der
"TARZAN"-Serie zu monoton und Foster hatte keine Lust mehr, die
Geschichten eines anderen Autors zu illustrieren, so dass Foster die Comic-Serie
„TARZAN“ im Jahr 1937 verließ.
Ab Mai 1937 wurde der für seinen dynamischen Zeichenstil legendäre BURNE HOGARTH sein Nachfolger, der mit der Geschichte „TARZAN IN THE CITY OF GOLD“ sein TARZAN-Debüt gab.
Nach einer längerer Pause zwischen Dezember 1945 und
August 1947, führte Hogarth die Abenteuergeschichten mit Tarzan bis August 1950
fort.
In Deutschland wurde eine Gesamtausgabe dieser „TARZAN“-Sonntagsseiten von 1931 bis 1950 in zehn Hardover-Ausgaben im Bocola Verlag veröffentlicht.
