Tales of the Zombie

Nach dem Start von "VAMPIRE TALES" folgte im Juli 1973 mit "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE" bereits das nächste Horror-Comic-Magazin aus dem Hause Marvel.

Hauptbestandteil der einzelnen Ausgaben von "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE" waren vorwiegend die Comic-Abenteuer mit dem Zombie SIMON GARTH, der bereits im Juli 1953 in "MENACE # 5" sein Comic-Debüt gegeben hatte.

Neben Simon Garth und weiteren Zombie- und Voodoo-Geschichten, folgte nach zwei Artikeln zur Comic-Figur BROTHER VOODOO von Tony Isabella und Doeg Moench erschienen im Juli 1974 in der sechsten Ausgabe von "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE" mit "END OF A LEGEND" die erste Geschichte mit dieser Comic-Figur.

BROTHER VOODOO alias JERICHO DRUMM gab im September 1973 in "STRANGE TALES # 169" sein Comic-Debüt, dessen Abenteuer danach in "STRANGE TALES # 170-173" fortgeführt wurden.

Nach der sechsten Ausgabe folgte im März 1975 in der zehnten und letzten Ausgabe von "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE" mit "THE RESURRECTION OF PAPA JAMBO" eine weitere Comic-Story mit BROTHER VOODOO.

Danach hatte BROTHER VOODOO  unter anderem Auftritte in Marvel-Serien wie "MOON KNIGHT", "WEREWOLF-BY-NIGHT", "DOCTOR STRANGE", "BLACK PANTHER", "THE HULK" und "THE NEW AVENGERS".

Nach der letzten "SIMON GARTH"-Comi-Geschichte "SIMON GARTH LIVES AGAIN",  die in der neunten Ausgabe von "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE" erschien, folgte im Dezember 1982 in "BIZARRE # 33" mit "TALES OF THE ZOMBIE: DAMBALLAH'S DEEDS"noch eine weitere Comic-Story mit dem Zombie Garth.

1975 erschien zwar noch eine "Annual-Ausgabe" von "TAES OF THE ZOMBIE", die aber nur Geschichten enthielt, die bereits in den regulären Ausgaben des Comic-Magazins erschienen waren.
